I am a North Carolina native, having grown up in Winston-Salem, then moved to Chapel Hill for college and received a bachelors of science degree in biology, a minor in chemistry, and a concentration in psychology.
The first half of my career was in the IT Industry, but as university red tape got worse (as did my commute!), I decided to take control of my own career and switch directions. Real estate brokerage actually has a lot in common with IT; identify a problem, analyze potential solutions, do your research, present options, and follow through with implementing the solution with skill and diligence. I found it to be a natural transition, and my clients seem to agree!
My work style is very data-driven. I use existing market data, likely trends, and my own experience to determine the best way to either market your home or find your next one. I have designations by the National Association of REALTORS as an Accredited Buyer Representative, Strategic Pricing Specialist, and e-PRO.
I have lived in Raleigh since 2003 and started in real estate in 2007. While my main concentration is Wake County, I do work in surrounding areas and have a network that extends statewide. I have extensive experience with physicians, public safety professionals and the LGBT community. I take my fiduciary relationship with my clients very seriously. From the beginning and throughout the transaction, I am 100% committed and focused on helping them reach their goals.
Client Testimonial
Despite a global pandemic, preposterous economic uncertainty, and a 2300 mile relocation, Chris Newton successfully sold my Carnegie Park townhome, above asking price and in less than two days from listing.
Besides being a great friend, Chris is a fantastic realtor and helped bring this property full circle for me. He helped me find and purchase it in the first place - no mean feat - and it gave me five great years. Seemed only fitting that Chris be the one to close the chapter on it as well.
If you're looking for a knowledgeable and skilled realtor that actually cares, he's the only person in North Carolina I would deal with. B.McGurk
