Five Points Description
Located Inside The Beltline in Raleigh, the Five Points neighborhoods surround the intersection of Fairview Road, Glenwood Avenue and Whitaker Mill Road. This intersection is the heart of Five Points and is anchored by an eclectic group of shops, restaurants, The Rialto Cinema and the Post Office. The surrounding neighborhoods may all be referred to as "in" Five Points, but the historical names include Vanguard Park, Roanoke Park, Bloomsbury and Hayes Barton. The technical boundaries of Five Points are not specifically defined - occasionally, we will see homes as far as Wake Forest Road being marketed as in Five Points - and the City of Raleigh Five Points CAC does cover a broader area than the neighborhoods around the intersection. Five Points is considered a desirable area to live due to the proximity to everything in Raleigh. The neighborhood is very walkable and a typical home in the area will be a smaller, bungalow style built in the early 1900s. Many of the homes have been expanded over the years and there has been some infill development as well with larger square footage.
